On March 23rd the Menihek Nordic Ski Club held a ceremony to dedicate its 15 Km Koch trail system, designed by World Champion Skier Bill Koch, to the memory of Al Merrill.
Al Merrill was a true friend to the Menihek Nordic Ski Club and was instrumental in helping the club get off the ground. He was an invaluable consultant in the acquisition of world class events and in the development of our club as a national and international training centre.
Also in attendance at the ceremony were two of the clubs founders, Colin Jardine, who was given the honor of cutting the ceremonial ribbon, and Karl Krats. Both of these men have been instrumental in establishing the Menihek Nordic Ski Club as a world class center. Mr. Krats was honored with a life-time membership to the club in recognition and appreciation of his many contributions.
